| The Power of Mind (1) |
Consider human body capable of doing activities such as walking, running sitting, talking, showing emotions to name a few. Have we ever consider which part of the body regulates every human movement. Yes we may say that walking is a motion using human legs, but to what command does it move to achieve our purpose using those legs. Does human needs to express his willingness to walk and command their legs to do some steps? Literally not. Human wake up in the morning in their conscious state and a power within themselves scan the surroundings, pull those muscles together exert the effort and there goes the action. And that command comes from the brain. From firing millions of neurons and converting those carbohydrates to energy and the releasing of essential minerals.. Yes its the brain functions.
Everyday, there is an almost infinite activities happening on the surface of the brain to achieve those activities.
But what is intriguing some of us today is the mind that we call. The mind that is responsible for every decisions we make. The mind that instructs us that it is risky or not for a particular decision. Are we controlling the mind or the mind controling us?
There is a specific instances when we make certain decision that we later felt good or felt the other way after a certain action has been done. And who are responsible for that action. Of course one may say , "it is us that is responsible to our action". But wait where is that decision came from. What makes such decision? Outside influences? Not entirely..Remember we have a saying that "after all it is you who make it".
Then, we could finely believe that it is something inside of us that strengthen those thoughts that makes it to action. It is the same entity that tells you to act quickly upon imminent danger. It is the same voice that tells you to go make friends with someone. There you are we have the voice within that plans, modifies belief ,commands action and executes idea. Do we have a reference who or what is the voice that tells you to this or otherwise.
I would like to draw an instances in the Old Testament Bible which why Eve had taken the Tree of Knowledge, yes because of the Serpent. Why did Adam took the forbidden fruit? Yes because of Eve despite the warning of God. What makes Eve decided to take the forbidden fruit, afterall its her decision at the end. What Serpent did was instigation, deception and a convincing words, that's it.. Its up to Eve to eat or not to eat the forbidden fruit.
Human brain is a complex organ and believe to hold the mystery of our daily decision in life or even from the time of Adam and Even in the Garden of Eden. What makes it even more confusing is the fact that God given the instruction " Do not eat the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil " to Adam and Adam himself relay the words of caution to Eve. And yet the fall of man was never prevented. If only Eve had the Will to overcome the words spoken and promises made by the Serpent. Did I mentioned the WILL power.
