SSSSHHHHHH can you hear it?
Is that silence I can hear?
The silence can be deafening
But not today.. today is special !
Today is the first day of peace this week ! Husband at work, Daughter at school..Phew.
Thank goodness for school, but not for long. 7 weeks then she leaves.. then 3 months before she goes to college ! Noise will fill the house, deafening thuds from music upstairs. A miserable face and pouting lips when her way isn't my way. Chores being done loudly, footsteps on laminate flooring (who invented such a noisy floor?). STOMP STOMP STOMP. Rooms turning from neatness to messy quicker than tyres can be changed in the Grand Prix! TV goes from weepy films to MTV, noise that doesn't resemble words and feelings, just swearing or repetative beats that make no sense.
AM I GETTING OLD? I SOUND LIKE MY MOTHER...
Teenagers are like yesterdays, one blink and then they are ushered into adulthood.
Oh well, enjoy the peace while it lasts. Put on a weepy and go bake a cake for the rest of the noisy clan who will be home soon. SSSSHHHHHH don't wake the noise x |
