Salvation is a free gift from God according to the scriptures, and it is God who gives the free gift. God is not entitled to give a gift to anyone.

You cannot earn salvation. Doing "good works" will get you exactly "0" in God's kingdom. If good works could get you into heaven Jesus didn't need to come and die, but Jesus did come and die because "there is none righteous, none who seek for God, all have turned away..." (Romans chapter 3.)

Several years ago the pope said that there are "righteous Hindus, and righteous Buddhists." WRONG. As the scriptures plainly state in Job 1:4, "Who can bring what is pure [righteous] from the impure unrighteous]? No one!" What does the scriptures say about unregenerated hearts? Jer 17:9, "The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?"

Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims and ALL of the other religions of the world reject Jesus Christ as the Saviour of the world, and Jesus said "....the one who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me." Luke 10:16(b).
