ANSWER TO MY LATEST THREAD

Do not the scriptures however written, translated, inspire us to be "good" individuals? Inspire us to be the best human beings we can be? Is there truly anything written in anyone's version of the bible that would purposely lead us astray, away from our Creator and consequently judge? Does it matter therefore if we do not all agree on all the words that are written in the holy bible, to mean the same if their goal is the same? to lead us to God?

The wars are and were not caused by what was and continues to be written (by the many false prophets) today, in the holy bible. They are caused by the many individuals who profess to be the only true believers in Jesus-Christ therefore their religion, their beliefs being the only true scriptures.

I may have the title of RC however I am not guilty of the transgressions of my forefathers and I do not live in the past, I relish the present and the future therefore I have moved on from the past sins of my religion, my faith and I worship my God with whomever chooses to do so with me regardless of their creed. I show no preference and I am sure God feels the same way about everyone who believes in Him and honors Him regardless of their particular religion. Linda

I wish more people felt so.. to me the key is "God is Love.." far too many are professing a faith that does not fit that most basic of criteria.. while I cannot give my heart to any hierarchy I understand those who do.. and wish them well..

Oh! I almost forgot to say, my heart does not belong to any "hierarchy" it belongs to Jesus-Christ. My soul governs my heart not any "hierarchy" therefore that belongs to Him also. I guess you could say I live for Him.

I understand and didn't mean to imply otherwise.. I really meant I just can't commit to the polity of most denominations.. the only one I feel comfortable with, alas,are a bunch of stuffed shirts. never, never would I doubt your faith. I have only great respect for Catholicism.. I just can't be that structured..I do feel winds of change within the church..both sides of the divide.. and welcome them..

I would take it a step further and say that anyone who is trying to lead a good life whether they believe in the Bible or not, will have their rewards based on what they know. I cannot find fault in any devout religious person who is a good person even if they aren't Christian.

if I may, linda.. you are right in my eyes. many "heathens" in fact follow Christ's words closer than many "Christians".. Christ told a parable of two sons- one of whom acknowledged his father's authority but didn't do as he asked. the other didn't acknowledge his father's authority.. but did as he asked. Christ said it is the second son who deserves praise. we who are third sons- who acknowledge and do as we are asked.. must renounce the first sons and embrace the second sons..
