i got this sheet in psychology. i find it very interesting, so i want to share it with you.
below is a list of 18 values arranged alphabetically. your task is to order them from "most important" (ranked as #1) to "least important" (ranked as #18). rank these values in order of their importance to you as guiding principles in your life at this time. we change as we grow and so do some values; therefore, your rankings should reflect how you feel/think right now. note that your #18 value may hold a great deal of meaning to you, just not quite as much as the others. this list represents general categories and certainly does not cover every value in the world. this list gets you started.
- a comfortable life (prosperous)
- equality (brotherhood; equal opportunity for all people)
- an exciting life (a stimulating, active life)
- family security (ability to take care of loved ones)
- freedom (independence and free choice)
- happiness (being content)
- inner harmony (freedom from inner conflicts)
- mature love (emotional, intellectual, spiritual, sexual intimacy)
- national security (protection from attack)
- pleasure (an enjoyable, leisurely life)
- salvation (deliverance from sin and eternal life)
- self respect (self esteem, a feeling of personal worth)
- a sense of accomplishment (making a lasting contribution)
- recognition by society (respect and admiraiton by others for you)
- true friendship (close and enduring companionship(s))
- wisdom (a mature understanding of life)
- a world at peace (freedom from war and conflict worldwide)
- a world of beauty (beauty of nature and of the arts)
try it. you'll learn a lot about yourself. i'll share my thoughts later on, i don't have time right now. just thought this might spark your interest, and it really does help you realize what's truly important to you at this point in your life. |
