| My Ex Best Friend and her New Baby Girl |
|
I have been with the company I currently work with for three years now. About five months into my job (October 2005), I met a girl named Polly*. Polly and I met when we would go outside to smoke on a regular basis.
We became friends fast and stayed that way for over a year. Around April of 2007, she decided to throw our friendship away because she was jealous. Of what, I still don’t know. When she found out she was expecting a baby… she decided she needed me as a friend again (September 2007), and apologized to me.
Although we could no longer be the best of friends that we had once been because I no longer trust her like I did, I said we could be friends.
I learned not to trust her with anything personal or important, but I do listen to her when she has something to say.
I watched her swell up with the baby growing inside her, I listened to her complain that she cant walk, barely take care of business in the bath department and beg me not to have a baby. HAHA I told her that watching her pregnant is the BEST form or birth control even if I don’t need it. If there was SLIGHTLY a chance that I would look like that and feel like that if I were expecting, I would NOT have a baby.
Today she gave birth (via C-section) to an 11lb 9oz baby girl! HOLY MAJOLEY!
So I am wondering what 11lbs feels like and pick up 3 IT books and walk them to the secretary and ask her to weigh them with postage weight machine. First book 4lbs, second book 2lbs and the third is 2lbs. She says we need another thick book so I go get one and its 3lbs totaling 11lbs. Walking around the office holding this stack of books weighing 11lbs was exhausting.
I can’t imagine having that big of a baby. She sent me a photo of the baby and she has a cute chubby face and chubby arms and fingers. Pink as a Princess gown and tiny scrunched up eyes. Her name is Maya. Her initials are going to be MMM.
Perhaps I will post a photo of little Maya soon when I get one that isn’t on my cell phone.
I am still I sympathy pain imagining carrying a baby that big for so long. 11lbs 9 oz!!!!!
Anyway, just thought I would blog about it.
*name changed so she wont whoop my rear. lol
