With diet being such an influential part of your health, everything that goes into your body will have an effect even if its slight.  The traditional western diet is comprised of far too much meat, dairy, and refined foods with very little fruits, whole grains, and vegetables.  Its important to understand that refined foods cause your blood sugar to spike rapidly.  After a period of time this often leads to diabetes.  The ingredients also play a major role such as monosodium glutamate which has supposedly been linked to cancer, migraines, and other diseases.  How hard is it to recognize these toxic ingredients on food products? Its extremely difficult! The FDA allows about 10 other names for Monosodium glutamate on food products such as yeast extract, autolyzed yeast extra, gelatin yeast nutrient.  Is this protecting the american people? Absolutely not which is one reason to believe there is a conflict of interest between pharmaceutical, food, and government agencies.  I try and look at all of the ingredients in a product and usually if its under 3 or 4 I'll get it.  Now obviously potato chips would fall under this but those offer no nutritional benefit and are carcinogenic.  If you care about your health start being more aware of what you put into your body.
