and it's my Birthday. I use to dread another birthday, adding on the years until I was diagnosed with cancer four years ago. Now every year I have is important to me. Life matters, passion no longer takes a backseat, wellness is more important than working, and balance is more important than busyness. The old adage that "life is not a dress rehearsal" is so true and I no longer will put off what is truly important or take part of things that are not. I no longer focus on my age and I try my best to enjoy life every minute I can. I started reshuffling my priorties, spending more time with my family and friends, taking care of my body and health by eating better and exercising regulary and I always try to help other in need.
I did have to ask myself what matters the most and make my daily life a true reflection of those ideas, beliefs and attitudes.
Yes, I am happy my cake is loaded with birthday candles!! So what, call the fire department.

Happy birthday girlie! I just look at those candles and think...wow, I have led such a good life so far, each candle is a memory of a year past, a year filled with more joy than pain! Lucky dog you!
