Lately I've noticed that I have a space issue. I hadn't noticed it until people started getting to close for comfort. Within this week someone I don't really think of as a friend, hugged me. I kind of have a weird thing with hugs as well. I don't want one from you unless I genuinely care about you and you do for me. If you've stabbed me in the back like this person has, I really don't want you touching me. Keep in mind that even if I'm nice to you at work...doesn't mean I like you or want you in my space.
Then just today I had a coaching session with someone who's on my team. This person was in my comfort zone and I didn't want to be rude and tell her to back up so I just dealt with it. If you are touching my leg and this is not a hanky panky situation so to speak, then you need to back off.
I guess I learn new things about myself all the time and didn't even realize it until now. |

Yes, a new topic for the brains here:P I have the same issue. And, it seems to make people defensive or angry around me. Some people want to touch others out of lonliness/need...others out of simply being affectionate. And, yes, it really ticks me off when it is someone I don't particularly like. I suspect though I cant see it, my hairs stand on end when people touch me. Touching is a bit of intimacy...a level of intimacy...and since I am someone who is struggling with trusting others, it has to be earned/proven. People at least have to be friendly and show they are on my side. People who try to get something out of me and think touching me or shaking my hand is going to get "service" have another thing coming.
Another lil fun fact, if someone walks behind me while I am working on something, I tend to...well, poot. It's sort of a skunk defense mechanism. I guess Im afraid they might do something behind my back/out of my range of control. So, it's not a safe place for them to be:P
