Peace and security,
That is what we call for,
A home and a job and a family and friends,
And the ability to enjoy these in peace,
Without fear of threat from our enemies,
Whether they be foreign armies or criminals who dwell on our own shores.
The path to peace must always be through justice,
For without justice there can be no peace.
Those who are oppressed will always be full of rage,
And this will always push us towards war.
So let us call for justice,
Truth and justice,
For just as there cannot be peace without justice,
There cannot be justice without truth.
The just must always look through the lens of truth,
Seeing themselves, their friends and foes alike as they really are,
Putting aside that which would distort our vision,
Be it pride, fear, favouritism or prejudice.
Look into the mirror,
Look and see,
What is good and what is flawed,
And then act on this truth.
Seek the truth with diligence and determination,
And you shall find the wisdom to recognize and do justice,
And through justice you shall find the means to create a lasting peace,
Not just for yourselves but, eventually, for all the world. |
