Very inspiring and insightful.

I'm not interested in making Afghan women stop wearing their burqas. I simply want them to be able to have the choice of whether or not to do so which, under the Taliban regime, they didn't have. They had to keep their bodies completely covered or they would be beaten.

Welcome back. Haven't seen you around for a while. Hope all is well.

What do guys want? The same thing that women want.. everything. Lol.

Interesting. And well written.

It can be frustrating to look at the crimes that are committed but I still think that, compared to history, things are gradually getting better. From what I can tell from history violence was far more common in centuries past...in fact, many terrible things were considered perfectly legal and socially acceptable (i.e. beating your wife, slavery, torture, pedophilia, etc.)

So many people have problems with their self image it seems and oddly enough sometimes it is completely unjustified. There is nothing wrong with your appearance that I can see. I think you may just be going through a negative patch.

Sometimes when I see all the drunks on the street downtown at night, getting out of the clubs and screaming, starting fights, urinating in public, etc. I feel like running up and down and slapping big red stickers on their heads that read "Dumbass". Probably wouldn't be a good idea though.

I've found that expressing yourself is therapeutic but you also have to take action to address the things that trouble you. Thoughts and feelings on their own are not sufficient sometimes - sometimes you need to pinpoint the problem, come up with a plan and then execute it. Yeah, I know, easier said than done.

This blog conveys both a sense of pride and frustration. Pride that you're expressing yourself through your writing to people and doing it well but frustration that maybe it's not as satisfying as you expected it? Or am I misreading?

Lol. Did you think of these yourself? Too funny.

I think that every human being desires to find some sort of romantic/sexual/emotional relationship with another human being. You shouldn't feel guilty for wanting that. It's natural. The only question you need to answer is whether this is the right relationship for you. It's a little more complicated for you because you have religious & moral issues coming into play as well and I can't really give advice on that because I don't share the same views.

Being a drunk when you're young is common. Not healthy but common. Hopefully you'll grow out of it. Many do. Just so you know (and I'm sure this will sound preachy) but those who don't grow out of it and stay drunks into adulthood usually end up dead or dirt poor.

Good for you for realizing that you deserve better.

My friend and his girlfriend had a son recently and I've heard that she's not too happy about how much work he puts into taking care of the baby. His defence is that he works all day to support them. I think this is a common dispute amongst couples.

Some good points. A lot of time we cause ourselves problems by looking ahead to the future all the time, to the way we want things to be. Not that planning ahead is bad but if you spend too much time looking ahead you forget to live in the moment and enjoy what there is to be enjoyed right now. Have a happy New Year.

Either this was written during a time of great pain or you've somehow tapped into the mind of a forlorn and spurned lover. There's some very expressive imagery in there. Especially like the 'sea of dreams' line. Good work.

Only thing I'd say is that biological families can sometimes be overrated. Everybody wants a family but adopted families can be just as good, or better, than biological ones.
