Things I don't like
Ya know, I started this blogging thing to say things to people or even perhaps myself that were on my mind so I don't look like a total idiot sitting at a redlight talking to myself.  So today I decided that I would start sort of a little "blog mini-series" on just a few things I don't like.  Now, I am sure that there are those out there that will have a difference of opinion once they've reviewed my list.  To that, I say.."Fantastic". I truly hope you do.  For two reasons. First, maybe you can shed some light on some of these things and help me to look at them a different way. I'm not saying I'll jump off my boat and onto yours, but at least maybe they won't irritate me so much.  And second, as my momma used to always say; "What a boring world we would live in if everybody was the same."
Please keep in mind that these are in no particular order.  I've thought long and hard about my top ten list here and I still couldn't figure out which one to list first, so I said the hell with it and just listed them.  But we are going to start with.....

Republicans:
Namely, our Commander in Chief, America's prize idiot.  This is a man who has single handedly made me ashamed to call myself an American on more than one occasion since he took office.  Now before you start yelling at me that one man does not have the power to bring a country to it's knees....just hear me out.  Yes, he does and has.  Because he is the man who is lining his pockets while his buddies are getting richer and taking our jobs and shoving them where the hell ever they can make a profit.  Outsourcing of jobs has been at an all time high while he's been in office.  This is also the man who has hand picked and surrounded himself with people who are no more qualified to hold these positions than I am qualified to walk on the moon.  And this is what has led to the dissatisfaction of so many Americans.  This is why is approval rating is in the toilet.  But I think the worse part is that he just doesn't give a shit.  It's like he's on a roller coaster at Disneyland now.  He waited in line, got on the ride and the rest just doesn't matter now.  Even if you are too short to ride and manage to get on, the ride doesn't fucking stop and make you get off midway through it.  We could have stopped the ride, but money talks and bullshit walks and Howdy Doody got re-elected.  And now, he has nothing to lose.  No re-election campaign to worry over or nothing left to prove.  He's managed to make this far without being impeached so I am sure he doesn't lose sleep over that at night.  All he's doing at this point is sitting back and seeing how much more shit he can fuck up before the clean up crew gets there next term.  And getting richer doing it.  I've said it before and I'll say it again...how much money do you think this fat cat has made with the oil prices the way they are?  Damn near everything we do as a society is money oriented.  Very few people trudge off to scrub toilets or pick up our trash for the fucking satisfaction they get from doing it.  My boyfriend doesn't crawl around in 2 foot by 2 foot by 4 foot, nasty, hot vessells laying fire brick all day or walk into crematoriums where they still have dead bodies waiting to be burned but the oven's broke, for the sheer joy of doing it.  He is a craftsman and he's good at what he does and he makes a pretty good living doing it, but if he could be sitting at home earning dividends off of daddy's money and utilizing his craft to build his own house, he'd be a lot happier.  And I know I'm straying the point here a little..if you've ever read anything else I've ever written you know to stay with me and I'll come full circle again.  My point is simply that all politicians, just like most people, are self serving first and foremost.  I donate to two different charities on a regular basis, but you can bet your bottom that if it came down to taking care of mine before I took care of a stranger, the stranger will lose.  And that is exactly what our government has come to and the Republican party is the worst about it.  You don't spend millions of dollars to win an election without owing SOMEBODY something once you get there.  I am sure this is not what our Founding Fathers had in mind when they "brought forth this great nation."  And geez, it just makes me sick somedays.  And it should make everybody sick. And the fact that it doesn't makes me sicker!  I watch these conventions and debates on the television and standing next to the likes of Romney and Hucklebee are people that look just like me and mine.  Blue collar workers or low income white collar people (formerly known as the middle class) and all I can think and hope is that they just showed up to hear what these blow hards had to say.  I sit and think, "surely, YOU of all people, would not waste that one precious vote you are given on the likes of these men.  I don't know how any red-blooded, hard working citizen could.  It just baffles the shit out of me.  These are the people that are TAKING MONEY OUT OF YOUR POCKETS!  What more proof do you need to see this?  Does a fucking gallon of gas have to go up to $15 a gallon?  Do you need to pay 75% more for a gallon of milk next year compared to the 37% you are paying now (compared to last year) ?   And think about THAT for a minute, folks.  A gallon of milk costs 37% more right now than it did this time last year.  I don't know about you, but I didn't get a fucking 38% raise on my income this year.  And that's what it would take to come out just a little ahead.  The company I worked for has a 3% cap on all raises.  How about yours?  And there's ANOTHER thing....how many of your top CEO's do you think are going to vote for any party that will take money out of their pockets?  The solutions are out there and there are people that are running for office that are not as seedy and one way as some of the others. But you have to stop listening to main stream media and start thinking for yourselves and really listen to what these folks have to say.  When they show up in your town, drag your ass of the couch and go listen to what they say.  Don't wait for FOX news or CNN to tell you what to think.  Most Americans can't even name more than 4 people who are currently in the Presidential race.  Some not even that many.  And why do you think that is?  Because those are the 4 names you hear every day on the news.  I am so sick of hearing about how Hilary cried or that Obama is not black enough that my balls are aching and I don't even have a set.  That's how sick of it I am...I have imaginary body parts aching because Hilary cried.  Who the fuck cares?  John Edwards has a damn fine idea what this country needs to get back on track but he didn't CRY and he isn't black so it doesn't matter that he's probably one of the single most level-headed-hey-I-can-help-you guys on the campaign trail?  Bullshit!  Huckabee's gonna get the evangelical vote.  Yeah, that's who we want in leading our country..a minister.  Anybody out there ever remembering hearing about something called a constituition that says something or another about SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE!!!!!! Why the hell do I care what God you pray to?  Why should anybody care?  Because you thump your bible harder than I do, you know what's best for me? For my country?  Do you really want somebody leading our country that is so close minded they believe that gay people should find their closets and get in them? I am not real big on the gay thing personally, but I believe that any person should have the right to make that choice and lead their lives how they want to.  What, exactly, does your next door neighbor being gay have to do with you?  How does that affect YOU directly?  If your gay next door neighbor is fondling your 8 year old son, it's a problem.  But no more bigger of a problem than your straight next door neighbor fondling your 8 year  old daughter. Maybe I am naive or just plain ignorant, but I tend to look at issues at how they directly  or even indirectly affect me and or my family.  And so far, I just can't think how  somebody else loving another human being, regardless of gender, is bad for me or my family.  So I don't get the whole issue of why this should even be an issue relating to the presidency of the United States.  Look at the state we're in right now with our "good ol' boy" who everybody wanted to have a beer with...just because somebody can stand on a stage and read something that somebody else wrote and sell it, doesn't make them morally fit to be a kindergarten teacher, much less President.  They all have loose morals or they wouldn't be politicians.  So, I guess my point is simply.  Listen to what these people are telling you and read between the lines a little and get involved.  If a reporter approaches you on the street and shoves a microphone in your face and asks what you think about Hilary or Obama, for shit's sake, please know enough about them to say something more intelligent than, " I think it made her seem more human when she cried." or " I don't know if he's 'black enough' to win.  These are not the traits that are going to make a better life for you or your family for the next four years.  You need to know what these people are going to PERSONALLY do to ensure that you are not counting pennies for your next tank of gas and that your child can have as many glasses of milk per day that he or she wants because you can afford to buy a gallon of it every day if needed.  Throwing $200 or $400 to all Americans is not the answer to stimulate our economy.  We need our jobs back here on our own soil.  We need to make sure our farmers have the resources they need to keep growing our food.  We need to spend more money becoming independent on foreign oil and find other ways to fuel our daily lives.  We need to make sure that we don't have to take law enforcement officers off the streets or fire fighters out of the fire houses because of budget cuts. And we need to make sure that our children have the money available to obtain at least a basic education.  Now if there is a candidate out there that can do all this and more get up in front of me and talk about it.  I don't care if you are a purple-gay-bible thumping-republican-that cries I'll listen to what you have to say and hell, I might just even vote for you.  Because, I don't care what color  you are, if you seem "human" or if you like to stick coke bottles up your butt or if you masterbate and ejaculate into a Confederate flag while delivering a State of the Union speech, none of that really matters to me.  What MATTERS is all the things I have listed previously. What MATTERS is "will I be better off with you in office."  What MATTERS is do the things that MATTER to me, MATTER to you?  That's how we should be voting for our next president.  So before you jump the gun and vote for who CNN tells you to.  Ask yourself that question.  Ask yourself, "does what seems to matter most to this person, matter the most to me?"  If religion matters the most to you, then Huckabee's your guy.  If having a president that seems human and down to earth, matter to  you...go for Hilary.  If you're black and being black matters the most to you, then Obama is a good choice. See?  You think I'm saying that these are the only things these candidates have going for them.  Because through out this entire blog that is all I have ever said about any of them. Hilary: cry.  Obama: black.  But that's not what I think at all.  I happen to think Obama has the pulse of the world as a whole and that is a very good thing to have if you want to be my president.  His take on foreign policy is top notch and that is crucial for the safety of our nation.  Hilary has the education and tax ideas under control.  John Edwards is really the whole ball of wax. Maybe lacking a little relating to foreign policies or at least I haven't heard a lot from him on this issue, but he's my man, in case anybody cares.  And as for Hucklebee, well, everything I said about him is pretty much all there is to him.  He wants to change our constitution so that it coincides with the bible.  Let's just chuck everything we've lived by up to this point and rearrange it to suit him and his Christian soldiers.  Seriously, that's his idea.  Well, to some degree anyway. All I am asking is please, people, whatever you do during this election is up to you.  Don't forget that.  Ever.  And you can vote anyway you want.  But don't do nothing. Nothing is the worst thing you can do.  You may not think your vote matters, but what if everybody thought that way? But before  you leave that chad hanging () just remember to ask yourself....."does what matter most to me, seem to matter most to them."

"That's all I've got to say about that."
