14/2) The flame within need not dim cold when growing old;
Growing old: So many delightful, inspirational some humorous others sad. Stories told all over the world, of people, which has now gracefully grown old.
As teens, fourteen even younger, many will recall as if it was yesterday, asking their age then, will most likely have been sixteen. But once they reached fifty, the age seems to remain frozen on forty-three.
Many a day they blame their reflection in the mirror, shaking their heads, as they walk away. How can it be, is this really me?
The birth certificate they hold, may declare sixty-five, a pensioner, me, yet deep down inside they feel so strong, so young. Where has the time gone?
Then out comes the photo album, reflections of the past; the one in the swimming trunks, a beauty queen at twenty-three, that's me. Jimmy my brother, commander in the USAF; he passes on at age seventy-three. The cute blond with curly hair, again, that's me, aged three. For the moment vivid memories of yesterday becomes alive.
It all becomes a bit much, before dark they take the dog for a walk in the park. On a bench they quietly sit down, observe, sometimes stare. The girls proudly pushing their little ones up the path, in prams. They look so small, so young, like little girls themselves, how can they be mums.
Then they realize, a full life, joy, fun happiness, they had. Sad times, bad times they rather forget. As they lap up the warmth of the last rays of sunshine, before the glorious sunset. One thing they now know.
Tomorrow brings another day, growing old, does not mean, growing cold.

I just started a story about old people. I have been thinking about them alot lately.
My dad is 85, going to be 86 and he and my mom go to church daily
long story short
he was telling me that he knows he doesnt have a whole lot of time left, he can do the math, and he wonders how God is going to take him and my mother
will they have cancer or some disease, will they suffer, will it be today, when? I guess I hadnt thought about that for awhile, but I told him, these days its not just the 80 year olds that are thinking about that, with all the violence in the world! Those students sitting in class at NIU had no idea that yesterday was going to be their very last day, and they never could have predicted it
