My thought and Poemish-bit for today.
7/2) A house is not a home unless it feels it/

During a recent visit to Africa, the definition and answer to the question; "is a house always a home," became reality and a true sensitive eye opener to me.
I paid a visit to one of many tribal villages and welcomed into the home of one of the leaders seven wife's, where we soon learned that her house, like all the others, was constructed from sticks, mud and a cow manure, mixture for the walls and floor. Thatch grass secured the roof of the round hut / house.
It had one, the only narrow entrance door, no more than three feet high.
No widows were visible at all and the only light and fresh air came from some daylight shining in from under a tin shade, at the top of the roof.
In the centre of the unfurnished floor, the wife, a mother of a very small baby was laying on top of a hand woven, grass mat. A fire was burning from a large round tin that, had holes all around it. Its smoke darkened the hut/house inside, yet found its way to the top of the roof where it escaped into the outside air.
An interpreter explained that if we keep low the smoke would not interfere or burn our eyes.
The proud housewife thanked us for our visit to her and the rest of the family's houses.
She agreed when asked and sincerely assured us that there truly is, "no place like home"

Wow Greensky...Yet here today No one seems to be happy with what they do have...If we all could visit a home like you described, we would maybe learn to appreciate what we do have...

What a quaint way to live.
It would be neat to see how I would manage a life such as that.
Life would slow down quite radically, to have that way of life.
I think I would prefer it.
Interesting post.
You took me there.

It ate my comment. My father in law went there to distribute Bibles and the pictures that he brought back were ... well there isn't a good word. It was humbling to see the conditions in which they live. They don't have a many clothes, no shoes, the grass huts (are amazing, but not houses like we know them), it was an eye opener for me. I loved to hear him tell of them welcoming them into the villages. Sounds like a great trip! I would love to visit a remote village some day. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Hello tech4Him Cheers for the visit
The most happy and contented with what they have, tribe I met, willing to share the little they have. If you do plan to go I suggest you research the area and tribe as South Africa is a developed country and by no means Africa.
Nice to hear about your Dad, and his calling. God be with you brother
