I learned something new this past Monday and I thought I would pass it on.
I succesfully unclogged the toilet by using dish soap and hot boiling water. I found this information online, and though I was skeptical, I tried it. I had already used the plunger without any success and I even resorted to taking a wire clothes hanger and sticking it down the toilet. And I didnt want to call a plumber.
Anyways, I removed as much water as I could out of the toilet and then I poured a good amount of dish soap in there. (any liquid dish soap will work-joy, dawn, etc) Then I went to the kitchen and boiled a big pot of water. I let the dish soap settle while I waited for the water to boil. Once the water had boiled, I took the whole pot and slowly poured it into the toilet. I waited about a minute and then I took the plunger and plunged several times. Nothing. I had a lot of soapy bubbles though and I noticed the water was going down. I boiled more water and poured it down the toilet. I used the plunger again, and this time the water flushed.
WOO HOOO!!
I was so happy and proud of myself cause I didnt have to bother J and didnt have to call a plumber.
How did our toilet get clogged? One of my LOVELY kids stuck a big wad of toilet paper in there.
Here is the link to where I got this information from.

I also know how to clean a microwave oven. This is widely known but in case there is anyone that hasnt heard of this:
Place a microwave safe container full of water in the microwave and nuke it for 5 minutes on high. Wait one more minute and take a wet dishrag and wipe the inside of the microwave. All the hard, stuck on gunk will come right off cause the steam from the boiling water softens it up. Cool!!

There is a book called "Easy Does It" that has many of these type of tips in it. You can probably find it used online.
