We have been married for 45 years and his moods are now driving me crazy. He wanted to retire for the 3rd time and so we agreed that March would be the cut off point. One of hour daughters got a job offer and this would get her back out into the work force so he said that he would take care of her 5 year old till the end of school. (She is a school teacher). His choice......He now is one moody jerk and this is not something new.....It has been going on since we were first married. At first I thought it was my fault, then we had 4 kids so I did not have time to notice a whole lot then they all got married and finally the last just moved out. I always was running interference for the kids and now they think he is "King". He has tendency to get into a depression and those are not pretty. Right about now I think I am to old to have to put up with this yet when I bring up his moods he thinks I am picking on him and he is always wrong. So I'm just going to ignore him. Thank God that I still work full time. I cannot imagine myself ever retiring while he is this moody. I some wonders if this is the start of something. Because not only the moods but he has started to get very impatient and swears and is constantly negative. When he was younger he was never negative and he was fun to be with when he wasn't moody.  He is so self centered. I just can't figure it out.
