Someone does not want us to be together
Ephesians 4:31,32 - Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and
clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And
be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even
as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Yesterday I was attending a service where a person from the US was
breaking the Word with us. He leads a large congregation back in the
US and now going around the world to different Churches.
He was sharing about a certain spirit that is operating very strongly
in all the churches - the critic spirit. Very specific characteristics
of this spirit is that if a person does 9 things good and 1 thing bad,
the spirit makes us look only at the bad things and totally ignore the
good things which were done. It also makes it judge people who do not
live up to our expectations. It does not stop at there, the spirit
next makes us lay a penalty on that person. After that we land up
telling others about the faults of that person and in describing the
faults of that person we use the words like 'always' and 'never'.
This spirit is as contagious as swine flu. People with less
(spiritual) immunity will catch it very fast and spread it further.
What is dangerous is although being like swine flue it has properties
like HIV. It breaks down our immunity further and allows other evil
spirits to attack us and grow in us.
One important point that he shared with us is that we need to remember
we do not know everything, so we should not judge others on the bases
of the limited knowledge that we possess.
A critic spirit stops at just pointing faults and laying penalties,
but a spirit of brotherhood helps a person to correct that fault.
Spirit of charity is the best antidote to this virus. Do it even if
you and I like it or not. Do it for the sake of Christ.
[Prayer Starter]
Father God, Your Word says we are walking in a new stage of the Church
of Christ and Satan does not want us to. He is trying all means to
stop us but he will not be successful, for it is written. Lord, pour
out your Spirit more and more on your people, especially those who are
leading the Churches. Let them be a good shepherd like You. Lord, let
charity grow among your people and let your glory fill your Church...
We make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.
