Holiness is not just for some select few spiritual giants; it is not just for
pious people who sit around all day with nothing to do but "be holy."… "Everyone
who names the name of the Lord" is called to live a holy

Dear Heavenly Father
Thank You for not calling on just a select few to be holy, but for
calling out everyone who has called upon the name of Jesus to be holy. It is our
job, it is our duty, it is our responsibility to put away our old wants and
desires of this world, and focus on the Kingdom that You have prepared for us.
It does not mean we can't be happy or enjoy the things that You have blessed us
with, what it means is that loving and being obedient to You comes before all
else. It means that our sinful past behaviors must change so that the light of
Christ shines through us. It means that we must love one another as You first
loved us. It means putting the needs of others above our own. It means being
motivated to live a "holy" life. Dear Lord, help us to conform to the "holy"
character that You desire us to be and let that desire be our desire. In Jesus
most precious name, I pray. Amen.
