 Turning over a new leaf.
Wow, it's been a long time since I blogged. I guess it's kind of gone out of style.
Anyhoo, I made this blog basically to chronicle the changes I want to make in my life, and hopefully use it to keep me on track with those changes. I'm not 100% happy with myself at present, so I'm going to do something about it. Here are the changes I want to make:

1. Go green
Or semi-green. I'm not financially disposed to completely overhaul my life, but I want to do what I can.

2. Spend less
I've realized in the past few days how much money I've wasted on things I never use, rarely use, or only half use. It's going to be hard to do, but I'm going to try to limit myself to only $20 a week. I don't go out much, and I still live at home while I'm in college, so I think it's a good amount to aim for. Obviously this won't include the cost of gas (if only it only cost $20 for a full tank!). Along those same lines, I'm also going to try and do all my errands one day a week, so I won't waste gas (or be tempted to buy more) by going out several times a week. Every sunday I will go to the ATM and get $20 out, and that's all I'll have for the week (it's just too easy to spend a lot using a debit card, and not real cash). Whatever is left over at the end of the week I want to save for a clothes shopping spree for after I-

3. Lose weight
I want to lose about 60 pounds. It's a big goal, but I think I can do it, and more importantly, I need to do it. Last year I lost about 30, and it felt great. Unfortunately I didn't do it as healthily as I should have; I restricted my consumption too much, then went on a food rampage, and I basically developed binge eating disorder. So I gained some weight back, but I'm dealing with my food issues and I think I'm ready to try again. I would like to reach my goal by this time next year.

4. Reconnect with my family
I don't have the best relationship with my dad's side of the family. In fact I hardly have a relationship with them at all. I used to when I was little, but as I grew older I pulled away. I feel guilty about it, and I know they want me to be in their life more, so I'm going to really make a consious effort to be.
And finally-

5. Be healthier
Mind, body, and soul. This sort of connects to everything else.

Wish me luck!
