The top 6 lending institutions in the country, say they will start contacting individuals 90 days or more behind on their mortgage payments. Home owners will be given the opportunity to put the foreclosure process on pause for 30 days while the lenders try to work out a way to make the mortgage more affordable for the homeowner.
This is a new initiative announced by the Bush Administration today.
