| Ohio Leaders should be Commended

I just want to take a minute and commend the leadership in Ohio for the addition of Military status as a protected class. The new law HB 372 that goes into effect March 24, 2008 adds military status as a protected class.
I can’t imagine an individual who would discriminate against a person that has served this country. They are owed our respect and appreciation.
This past summer I had the honor of helping a member of the Air force find a house. Ironically during the negotiating process, the listing agent asked me what my client did for a living. I told her that “I hadn’t discussed it with my client if that information was O.K. to disclose”. She didn’t push the question any further. I think she asked just because she was curious. I would hate to think that it might have played a role in the outcome.
