Nothing can measure up to the experience of hooking a cutthroat trout amidst the majestic peaks of the Colorado Rockies. More than a simple fishing trip, many anglers feel an almost mystical experience fly-fishing the cold waters of the Roaring Fork Valley.

Flowing between Aspen and Glenwood Springs, the Roaring Fork Valley encompasses four beautiful rivers: the Colorado, the Roaring Fork, the Frying Pan, and the Crystal. The Roaring Fork, from Aspen to the Upper Woody Creek Bridge, and from the junction of the Crystal and Roaring Fork north of Carbondale {with the Colorado River|joins the Colorado River| the confluence with the Colorado River, has been declared Gold Medal Water by the Colorado Wildlife Commission.

The river’s class does not prevent the average angler or family simply desiring a Colorado fishing vacation from experiencing the thrill of Rocky Mountain fishing. There are numerous guided fishing tours and most guides offer rental gear and short classes on fly-fishing, to familiarize the novice angler.
