Was it You??

Several times in my life I have encountered someone who has helped me more than they could ever imagine.  I was thankful then....but never got the chance to really tell them how much they impacted my life. As small a favor as it may have been, they were there for me - and they didn't even know me. They expected nothing in return - but for me to return the favor to someone else in need. Total selflessness. I cherish those people that were in and out of my life in a blink of an eye - but made such a huge impact....
I will never forget them.

To them i say "I never got to thank you for what you did for me. Thank you!"

I ran out of gas at the pump five years ago. I was terrified to find out that I didn't have my wallet with me. She over heard me talking to myself, and paid for 5 gallons of gas for me. I thank you, gas lady.

I was a teen inbetween cities that I was travelling to. I was shaken up to have my car jerk onto the shoulder of the road to find out that I had a flat tire. About 5 minutes into the ordeal, a kind gentleman stopped and asked if he could change my tire for me. He fixed my tire, wiped his hands on a paper towel, smiled, and drove away. I thank you tire-man.

I was in bad shape financially. Didn't have a dollar on me. My children were so hungry, and I didn't have anything to feed them in the house. I decide to drive to my kindergartener's school earlier, so she could get a breakfast there, but was informed that I had to pay for it at that time. I thought I could use her school account for the purchase - but there was no money in her account. I then drove to McDonalds, and searched for enough money to buy a pancake breakfast for my 2 very small children to share. I gathered all the change from in my car seats and under the mats. I thought I had enough for that breakfast and a cup of icewater. I stood at the  counter and ordered my 1 item. The total came to 5 cents more than what I had. Nearly in tears, I looked around on the floor, hoping to scrounge more money while a line of people waited behind me. As I proceded to cancel my order for lack of funds, a teenager behind me reached in and lent me the nickle. I will be eternally grateful to that young lady. (Tears rolling down my face even now.) I thank you nickle-lady.

To these people, they would probably say "Oh, no big deal, Your welcome". But to me, these are the heros in my life that just did an act of kindness, expected nothing in return. NOTHING. I try so hard to be more like them - selfless - but sometimes I am not. I want to touch someones life like they have forever changed mine. I will never forget them.

Great blog, everyone should take a few minutes to remember all those people who came into their lives for only a moment ,but left a beautiful memory for a lifetime.
