| While Americans Slept, We Lost

Did you see the sun come up this morning? It looked a little dark outside to me, darker than normal. I turned on the news and the headlines read "Sorry America, While You Slept, We Took Over".
Yeah right I thought as I fixed some tea to fully wake up. They are giving instructions on the news broadcast "you will report to the biometric identifyer center in your zip code within 30 days". Bah humbug I said to myself. This is America they won't be putting a computer chip in me like some dog. It went on to say that anyone who refused would be considered a fugitive who cannot be identified,but the entire matter was being done only for our security and the security of the new North American Citizens and we should happily comply.
Phooey..on this as I approach my old Joe cafe for a much needed pick me up on my way to work. As I pull out some cash the girl says she is sorry but we don't take dollars any more. While you slept the three countries eliminated our dollar and only accept the amero now. I am afraid it is not worth as much as the old dollar was, so your cup of Joe will set you back another couple of dollars on the exchange. Gosh I knew the dollar was in trouble but how could it have changed this much while I slept. As I approached my place of work I saw something unusual..my co-workers leaving and what looks like foreigners going inside. The American flag is gone and replaced with another I do not recognize. What the heck! As I crossed the hall to my office my boss asked to speak to me and I expressed surprise at the significant change in faces. He explained that a foreign company had bought us out and I was to stay on and train my replacement. I was to be patient as his english was not good. How could a company such as ours be bought out...we handle sensitive security information for the government...do all these people have security clearances to process what we do here. My boss hung his head low and said while you slept your government was harmonized with a third world country and a socialist country. I am not sure what is secret and what is not and I am not being told the status of the sensitive matters we deal with here. My boss said there is more. Your benefits package has been significantly cut and you are now responsible for your own health insurance. I was also told that the foreigners were making considerably less money and all jobs would be re-classified to the lower wages. I told my boss that I felt with my security clearance and knowlege of government security systems I would be able to do better elsewhere. He appeared extreemly sad. While you slept the boarders of America opened and we were flooded with cheap labor from the south. Jobs are not what they used to be, wages are much lower. As a result our life styles will have to change alot. While you slept your United States of America became the North American Union. The country you grew up in loved and fought for is no longer. All this happend over time as you slept. |

interesting indeed. Maybe this is why I moved and live inChina where my job is very stable and life ofr me is more wonderful than being in the USA. Sorry for the country.
