"just pause for a minute and consider those of us who actually have to read that drivel"

Who said you have to read it?
This post makes me lose even more faith in humanity, not that I had any left...
Aren't blogs supposed to be a place to write down what you want? Isn't that the point? Or is it merely an entertainment source for morons like you? Maybe someone does have interest in those crappy two-lined paragraphs. Sometimes, shorter is sweeter. I, for one, don't want to read a 20,000 word essay on our depressing economic issue, no matter how good of a point it makes.

The end.

Ok, I am not a moron...let's just get that straight...and what I am referring to is the kind of post that says basically nothing...the kind of post that looks like someone's doodles that have no point or meaning...not a short post that has some impact...if you read me carefully, you would have understood that. If I offended you, then go write something mean and offensive about me on your blog page...And if you are really Trying for Truth... then don't jump to conclusions and misspeak. Thanks for stopping by.

BTW...if this post made you lose your faith in humanity...then I feel sorry for you.

Poor tryfortruth has such a little sad life she had to call someone a name for doing what she sad blogs are for.

"Aren't blogs supposed to be a place to write down what you want? Isn't that the point?"

I wonder who the moron really is?

My guess is not FF.

At the risk of sounding pompous, I don't think my intelligence was ever in doubt...hahaha!

Honestly, Mike, a lot of people here defended free speech..ummmm...or thought I was critiquing writing styles....

I'm too tired to restate it...ppppffffttt! whatever...this rant exhausted me....it taught me that a quick swipe of the pen could get you days of defending things you never even said!!! hahaha...

Anyway......thanks for stopping, my friend and helping me point out the obvious.... :-)

You lost faith in humanity over someone's blog? LOL, you're lame.

Funfreak has sort of a point, but I can understand your POV too.

Thing is, who cares?

Nothing worth calling people a 'moron' over nor cry yourself to sleep about (because I'm sure you're hacking away at your wrists with a plastic knife right now).

Take a chill pill TryForTruth.

i know what you mean.. have read alot..what i usually do is when the first few lines don't catch up my interest i don't continue...not gonna waste my time on it...

I know, I know...this was an impulsive write today..as I said, I normally don't say anything...Maybe I'm just hormonal....hahaha!

Just try to remember that people write for different reasons because everyone is different. Arguing gets us no where and if you dislike something then you do have the right to say, "I dislike it." However, most of the time the random meaningless bullshit is all they have left in their pathetic lives.

Give them a break, they are only human.
Best wishes,
*Miss Nightmare*

Honey, I wrote this on my blog...not theirs...I give everyone a break...I've been here for a long time...I don't understand when someone just wants to doodleydoo....they don't just go over to the forums where that goes on all day long...I guess I expect more from a blog...like substance and a point...*shrugs shoulders

I am aware that the blogging section is also a major form of therapy for those who have problems in their day to day lives...like dealing with reality and understanding how to socialize...that's ok...it is what it is...I just got a little miffed this morning...don't think me insensitive.

funfreak I got the point of your post, and as for tryfortruth, don't you just love it when it goes over a responders head and then they prove that by opening their mouth and letting their shit spew forth. Now you know why I have not been posting much here. This place is going to the dogs.

I think it's amusing...and a real indictment on our educational system...of which I was a part and finally walked away from...

Did I mention I was on the debate team in high school? Hhhmmm...maybe I should have...

Oh no.....I'm going to be VERY careful what i post in future....<shivers> :o)

AND YOU"RE NEXT!!!!! Hahaha....just kidding... :-) WTF??? It can't be just me that gets tired of reading what amounts to someone's scratch pad...and do we really need people posting a good morning or good night...and that's it? If we all did that, there wouldn't be enough room for anything with substance...like your poems :-). Is is just me or is everyone on here on lithium?
Posted by  funfreak  on 2009-10-25 22:36:43

At times the blog list looks like an IM board to nobody. Thoughts is ever expanding, but I feel it's losing that "hometown feel" of a small community.
Posted by  cabinfever  on 2009-10-25 17:56:11

I agree...I think that if you want to shout at your friends, go over to the forums and chat up a storm in Marie's...or go to a social network...And leave room here for when you have something to say...be it funny or serious or factual or fiction...but don't just put up nonsense so that you can see your name up. That's just plain silly.
Posted by  funfreak  on 2009-10-25 22:40:11

Hmm. Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks, definitely, even if some of them seem to be on the vinegar strokes, if you catch my drift.

Freedom of speech - the freedom to say anything in the confidence that someone somewhere has the opportunity to explain in great and convincing detail why you are dead wrong.

It's pointless to us, and I wonder why they are using up bandwith (and oxygen) but I don't let it bug me. After all, I'm not one of them.
Posted by  Perigo_Minas  on 2009-10-25 18:09:28

Hahaha...yah...I usually don't let it bug me either...something just snappped this morning and maybe it was my turn to waste some space...thanks for your input, Perigo!

I don't blog, unless I feel I have something of substance to blog about, otherwise I'm content reading other people's blog. I've enjoyed many a blog from others and am fascinated by alot. I'm more of a reader than someone that can sit in a computer chair, open up a fresh blogging page, hit the keys and just instantly have something to type about. I wish I had the ability to do that, but alas...I don't.

As for random blogging with absolutely nothing to say...I agree with I_AM_WOMAN. After the first few lines, if I'm not interested, I click out and move on.

I agree that there are alot of bloggers here that will post a blog with no more than 4 or 5 words and call it "complete" then post it..but its their right to do, just as its our right to click out and find that next good one. :)

You know, it isn't even about just writing four or five words...sometimes those four or five words can be poignant and beautiful or make you really think...but that is NOT what I am referring to...The stuff I was talking about looks like something someone in middle school would pass to their friend in study hall....it's totally idiotic and makes not sense other than to take up space here....and for some it happens over and over and over....so, because I have a voice and the ability to write a complete thought and a grammatically correct sentence...I thought it was time to raise the bar and ask that that silly stuff go somewhere else here at Thoughts... or in cyberspace...

I CAN'T BELIEVE no one mentioned the Boy George video at the top... hahaha! I thought it was freaking brilliant!!! And awesome!!!...and hysterically funny!! *sigh, oh well.....

well ,I must say I have thought that but never said it but I agree there is some meaningless drivel out there ,hey hold on a minute I better go check my blogs I have written some go no where bits recently ,ho dear me bad *shamed*

I can see this may lose me some friends....*sigh....no, Papabear...not you...stuff that doesn't go anywhere is still working through an idea....I was talking about total nonsense...like, "Hey, everyone...have a great day!!!", and stupid stuff like that ....

Your first rant...I'm sooooooooooo proud...*wipes a tear*...

Good goin girl...I have to agree and yet some of those one liners are funny...:)
Posted by  dreampower  on 2009-10-26 00:01:46

I have no problem with funny one liners... I love funny stuff ...but when the blog lines are clogged with personal messages and silly shout outs...if for no reason other than to get attention...well, the problem is that if we all did that, there wouldn't be time to sift through all that to read the blogs of those that are trying to say something...this is not about the profound or the heartfelt...it is about the ridiculous and the attention needy.

And for my first...it wasn't too painful...although I don't think I would make it a habit.
Posted by  funfreak  on 2009-10-26 00:29:00

I agree but.. people grow.. I give them the benefit of the doubt once or twice.. some folks who started pretty silly have produced good stuff eventually.. I have real problems with overactive angst...
Posted by  pastormike  on 2009-10-26 00:22:52

Hey, Mike...I was a teacher...I know all about first attempts and efforts....there are some people who wake up every morning and write a "hello everyone" blog...and that's just about it...and then it just goes on all day...sorry, but they aren't going to grow...well, that's not true...they are growing really annoying to me...not that I matter here, but it is a blog site...not a "post whatever stupid thought dashes through your head" site...If it takes you less time to think it than it took to type it, perhaps you should rethink it...connect it to a complete idea...then blog it...

Well, I am going on and on and this is not going to change anything...but I needed to vent this morning...it may have saved lives in New Jersey that I had this outlet!

Very funny, Puck...made me laugh...thank you.
Posted by  funfreak  on 2009-10-26 12:59:33

The souls who write drivel just want to connect with someone, get attention... be 'seen' and so they have their say. And you, who wish for something more, say I want more. There is space for both. Theirs on their little space of cyber and you on yours. Why not both? It is a difference of opinion...nothing more. Let them both exist side by side in respect.
Posted by  greunie  on 2009-10-26 13:19:52

I guess my only problem with that, Greunie, is that that is what Twitter is for, as well as the forum section, which has dozens of catagories. When people clog the blogging section with lots of social nonsense, I lose the ability to find blogs that were meant as blogs...not just friendly shout-outs....I must be getting old...it just annoyed the hell out of me the other day when I kept opening one silly thing after another and couldn't find the blogs of friends who got buried under a pile of those posts...Just call me "Mean Old Mrs. Wilson..." hahaha!
Posted by  funfreak  on 2009-10-26 13:51:31

You are entitled to one rant per year, Joanne! LOL! It was a good one and generated lots of dialogue, always good :) Happy Monday!
Posted by  Ellie2008  on 2009-10-26 13:31:22

Thanks, Ellie...gosh I hope I didn't waste it!!! Wouldn't it be funny if people saved their rant opportunities until December 31 and then suddenly bombarded the blogging section with their gripes and issues...hahaha...that thought made me laugh.

We all have our own opinions I try and respect them all.

I'm just here to write my feelings into poems and stories, that is what I came here for so I guess you lot are stuck on a roller coaster with me and you may jump off at anytime I wont charge you less though Haha (seeing its all free anyways) :).

None of us need to get that upset to call each other names surely ^Looks up^.I don't agree with you totally FF but that first comment was uncalled for.

We all have a right to blog what we wish (Even Video's *Sorry pet hate*).

I like your blogs anyways so there ;).x.
Posted by  Crimson_Read  on 2009-10-26 18:42:14

I don't think everyone understood what my issue was...I am not judging people's blogs...I just don't think this is the place to say good morning to your friends, or, "I'm bored. I think I'll..." when, if everyone did that, there wouldn't be space or time to get thru all those blogs... Thoughts is growing and there are a lot more people here now...I think a blog should be more like a blog and folks can go elsewhere to accommodate other kinds of networking.

This is why I laughed on your blog when you kept telling people you WEREN'T leaving...everyone reads their own thing into what you say.
Posted by  funfreak  on 2009-10-26 20:12:43

They do indeed I was just making a poem out of it, I often do that and people read so deep, its hard being a poet LOL!.
Unfortunately people will continue to post crap *Sighs*.

Respects always my intelligent friend.

I feel very much in the minority as that is just what I do - post my thoughts when I have something I want to write about. I don't worry too much how many people read me as I'm just so grateful that I have the friends I do on board. I don't waste time going through a lot of the trash written here and I'm always delighted to find a blog which does just what a blog ought to do - informs, amuses or intrigues me.

I appreciate your taking the time to post something here. I have read a number of your blogs and I always find your work and comments interesting. That said, I am not here to judge anyone...My own work is far from noteworthy. Let's just chalk it up to a bad morning and too much coffee... :-)

you will lose no friends over this funfreak.
if the truth hurts those it was aimed at then they
needed the kick up the arse LOL even i have been a
little out of line sometimes. but i had my ass well
and truly kicked over it.
you may have noticed lately that i have toned down my
ranting nature but it does'nt make me any less angry
to see what you are writing about here,
and you are so right it is annoying.
i hope i was not out of line for dropping a comment here,
and feel free to delete this comment if i was.
take care and be well

I hope this was taken in the spirit it was written...Let's call it quality control? hahaha...I usually keep this sort of thing to myself...but that morning, my panties were in a bunch...so to speak...I have no personal issue with you, Frank...Thank you for commenting.
Posted by  funfreak  on 2009-10-26 20:34:54

I can see both sides. I agree with you that when writing a blog one should have something to say and should have put in the time and effort to be able to say it in a manner that is both clear and interesting. However, I accept that there are people who are not willing to devote this much thought to their attempts at communication and I defend their right, as a matter of freedom of speech, to represent themselves stupid, inane and ridiculous as they may wish. Finally, let me say, I enjoyed your 'rant'. It was excellent.
Posted by  stevehayes13  on 2009-10-27 12:05:47

Steve...this was really never about people writing quality blogs...I was a teacher but I don't read with a red pen in my hand...(and most of you are damned lucky I don't...hahaha...just kidding). This was about people taking up blogging space for use as a cyber jot pad... I can't give you specific examples because I am not going to get into one of those pissing matches with anyone, but I think you know what I mean...I can't find blogs that people write because I have to sift through miles of other peoples' grocery lists (figure of speech). Of course there is freedom of speech, and I would defend anyone's right to it. Look at it this way...you go to a popular restaurant at lunch time and you have to wait an hour for a table because there are a number of patrons just having a coffee and taking up table space...do they have a right to do that? Yes, they do... Is it inconsiderate and a waste of a table for 4? In my opinion, yes, it is. Those people should take their tiny purchase to a coffee shop, where that activity is acceptable and encouraged...Does that make it clearer?

Thanks so much for your comments and for stopping by...it was much appreciated!

Welllllll..what did I do? LOL;) In all seriousness though, I agree with you. It does get old, because when you are looking through blogs and all you see is the same person posting nothing, it gets to be irritating. Kinda like the spam. Anywho... as you might have noticed I don't post very many blogs. When I do it's because I felt I needed to get something off my chest. There are nights I get drunk and post a few in a row (which is a record..lol) but I usually at least have SOMETHING to say that's important. (at least to me:)) Anyway, I hear ya and screw anyone that doesn't.
Posted by  SnoopsMama  on 2009-10-27 12:33:10

Thanks for boiling it all down to "I hear ya and screw anyone that doesn't"!!! Now that's perfection.
