 Police torture man with taser

This guy was apparently arrested for trying to use the UCLA library without a student id card. After he was tasered, probably for arguing with the police (that part is not on the video, unfortunately), they order him to stand up. Having just been hit with 50,000 volts of electricity, he's unable to. So they taser him again, and again, and again.... You have to see this, and hear the man's screams, to believe it. Just another day in paradise.

Well, this incident occurred a year ago, but this is the first time I've heard about it. I'm living abroad, so that's my excuse. But it's shocking that the victim was unable to take legal action against his torturers. Apparently UCLA authorizes its police officers to use tasers on people who are "passively resisting". In other words, if you aren't struggling against the officers, but you aren't complying, they can taser you as many times as they like, until you die. Take that Gandhi! Hey, Martin Luther King, here's 50,000 volts! Of course, those guys were beaten and gassed for non-violently resisting, but they weren't tortured with electric current.

According to Wikipedia:
Of the ten UC campus police departments, six have equipped officers with Tasers, but only UCLA has a flexible policy authorizing Tasers to be used as a pain-compliance tool against suspects who are passively resisting.

The student was a UCLA student and was authorized to be in the library, but he just didn't have his student id card with him. He was asked to leave, but didn't leave fast enough, and the library staff called the police. That will teach him not to have his id with him at all times! Send my kid to UCLA? I think not.
