Here is what it comes down to. This is the net, a board for sharing thoughts and opinions. You don't know me and I don't know you. Yes, I often imagine the type of person making the post that I find ridiculous but I imagine they do the same so I am probably as off as they are, except I realize this. I am not on here to covert anyone. I am not sharing thoughts to bring people to my way off thinking, in fact, if read, I am almost always on the defensive. Notice I said my 'opinions'. This are not beliefs and they are not set in stone. A close relative just recently said to me, on here to be exact, 'the best way to learn is to teach'................... My philosophy and outlook is totally different. I would have said the best way to learn is to listen. Much like being on a debate team, you do not get to pick which side you will be aguing for. It is picked and you find the best evidence you can present to convince the commitee/people/judges/etc. you have presented a better argument. No matter what your beliefs are, you put yourself in the others shoes and try to think like them, most of the time it will simply strengthen your opinion, but if you are openminded, you will almost always learn something about the differing view. To ignore it, pretend it doesn't exist and resort to insults is not the way to learn. Credentails are another issue I find facsinating here. It seems almost always with a fanatical belief or a massive ego flaunts them at every turn, even putting in their bio (unumanu, I am talking to you). Does it matter? There is a man, who makes much less money than me, who cannot do my job at my work. But he speaks six languages.I could not do that. I have tried to pick up bits and pieces of two and tht was hard. Is he smarter? Maybe. The point is there is a difference between being natuarally smart and not knowing things, to an average or an above average person with a strong desire to learn and who knows more than the 'smarter' person. Maybe is simply oppurtunity or maybe it is comfort in their status, but lying to make yourself seems smarter or more knowledgable on an internet forum seems a bit on the less intelligent side. First off, I realize I can be arrogant, rude, abrasive, crass and cocky. All faults I acknowledge and do try, sometimes with the exception of rude and crass, which I like being, to keep in check. But when I am these things, I know I am. other don't realize they are being rude, insulting, cocky and most of all, possibly lying. I don't lie. Maybe it is because I don't care and I am who I am. I am still learning who I am but I try and see myself as others see me, even if I disagree with their opinions (cursing makes one uncivil being one example).  Bottom line, these thoughts are just that, thoughts. What I think and believe at the time. I don't need to prove myself tp anyone here and although it is nice when someon agrees with me, it doesn't reaffirm my belief because I know it could change with the more I learn. So get offended at my 'thoughts', call me uneducated, call me stupid and label me a basment dwelling nerd in my moms house, whatever makes you happy. Chances are though, that the person calling the other one an idiot for his beliefs (and I am not referring to myself for calling someone delusional and an idiot for thinking they were visitd by beings from another universe) ismost likely the person with the less knowledge. Maybe not smarts, but definitely less knowledge.
