Default Why does physical therapy feel like torture?

I just got back from my second physical therapy session for my wrist and elbow and now my arm is freezing, i have little blisters on my elbow where they put this medicine while doing electric shock and covering my arm with an ice pack for 15 minutes! I know when my arm warms up and is no longer numb its going to be sore. I get to go back Friday for another round. yay! Why does if feel like torture?

Ok i know it is supposed to help but these little blisters hurt

Whats up with your wrist and arm? Depends on the therapy your getting also but remember, any therapy is only as good as the practitioner administering it.

I sprained my wrist and now the doctor said I also have tendinitis in my elbow. That is where most of my pain and swelling is located. I know it will help to go. I just was complaining. lol. I hate cold and they ice you up, brrr. And the medicine they put on me today really did help reduce the swelling. My skin just burns from it, although the blisters did go away.
To me it feels like torture when they put the ice on and use the electricity. It is the worst.

I will admit the arm massage was nice though. I could go for that anytime.

I have my own theory though, I think they are all secretly sadistic and throw in a couple things for fun.

Have you considered Acupuncture? Even acupressure, thouhg acupuntucre is better.

It has a higher recovery rate for inflammatory conditions affecting the msucular/ nervous system than conventional approaches.

Everyone has an array of illnesses. An injury can disrupt the order in which the body deals w/these problems. You're already down three touchdowns when physical therapy begins.

You know I never have thought about that. Thanks, maybe I will look into it if I can. Have to see if my insurance will cover it.

Um, is that good or is that bad? I know nothing about football.
Do you mean I am behind and have to catch up?

I needed physiotherapy for a while; I broke my wrist almost completely through and I needed to be in a cast for six or seven weeks... It was too long to remember exactly how long...
Anyways; my physiotherapy wasn't bad at all. I did some stretches, lifted some weights, and then I left. I'm done with it now. Yours sounds pretty bad O.o
I hope you're done with it soon!
