Default Acceptable Conversational Subjects

I guess we've been told...reprimanded...scolded and chastized.

Where went the freedom of speech so often espoused as one of our more coveted freedoms?

Let us all wash our mouths out and speak only rainbows and lollypops.

I read the first couple of posts on that thread, and found it interesting enough to try to respond. One of the few that I've found to be interesting lately, I might add.
And the thread was ripped out from under my feet.
The posts I read were not what I would call hate speech, and I resent that someone complained about it instead of dealing with it and having an adult conversation. It may have gotten bad after that and I just didn't get to that part yet, but then they should take away those posts, not the whole thread.
I suppose we could go back to discussing the weather, so no one gets offended.
How about you pull a post if someone absolutely can't handle it, and let the rest of us adults actually discuss a timely subject?
Oh sorry - so, how's the weather near you?

freedom of speech is one thing...freedom to raise hate is not and never will be accebtable in my life. You can resent all you want..I have an intence dislike for anyone who is so intensly predjudice against another race, religion or Thought.

I couldn't agree more. I read the thread, and absolutely read NO hate speech and the fact that someone had to complain about this, is beyond comprehension.

So fine, now what?
Can we get a list of what is hate, what is acceptable? Because what I read by a complainer was not acceptable either, but I realize that we all have our own thoughts and I understand that what I find unacceptable can be someone else's sharing their thoughts.

I have an intense dislike for those who can't accept that others can share thoughts and that it may only be your perception that it's hate.

Your view of this as hate is another's sharing of THEIR thoughts. We learn and grow when we share our thoughts.

It was good until someone complained. What, are threads only good if only some thoughts are shared?
Amazing.

I'm so sorry that some are so close minded that their version of hate must be shoved down the throats of others...

We apologize for any confusion of misunderstanding concerning our notice about posts hateful content.

We strongly do not want to inhibit respectful, balanced and mature discussion.

We, however, cannot allow sweeping hateful generalization about a religion, race, or group of people as a whole.

Such behavior clearly goes against our terms and conditions.

Freedom of speech... Yes. imploringly so.
Freedom to hate .... No. That is not allowable.

We appreciate your concern, and very much value your effort to maintain freedom of speech as a top priority.
As do we.

We would like to clarify, the assumption we wish for everyone to discuss "rainbows and lollypops" is strongly exaggerated, and not at all what we would like to impart when we attempt to quell hateful attacks and promote open, respectful, interesting, and productive discussion of all issues.
