Dearest Iran

Dear Iran,

I want to help you. We want to help you.
Believe me, there is nothing more that I would like to do than to see you guys get what you want, open up a little bit, and, quite frankly, take a chill pill.
One day, you can see American's and actually citizens of countries all over the world supporting the reformists and your green movement against the "presidential" elections.
and other day, you can see the many, many iranians who still want us all, Dead.
I understand we have two groups here, those who like us(ie younger folks) and those who dont, (ie older folks)-- but unless you want us to wait until all the older folks die out and the reformists can just move into their houses... there is a serious problem here.
I openly support you, and support your ideas. I think that Iranians are good people.
I know a few that have moved here from Iran right before your latest president took office for the first term. He's a really cool guy.
He also made me aware that many of you younger folks actually like Americans, our lifestyle, and our culture... Great!
I am in full support for helping you, and not just that, but I believe that we should be putting more effort into helping you than we are putting into our other foreign wars that arent going anywhere.
As i've been saying for quite some time now, it has come to my attention that we are fighting wars that no one wants; and avoiding fighting the one war that might actually see America's people's support.
I suppose there are plenty of rednecks who still believe that we should just nuke the middle east into nothing... but if it wasnt for the middle east how would we have gotten to where we are today? Well, we wouldnt. But thats besides the point.
In conclusion, Iran, you can hate us all you want, but personally, I at least, dont' hate you.
i dont know you nor do i know anything you may have done to us. perhaps you could loosen up a bit, maybe treat women a little more fairly- but hey, everything takes time and even here in America things arent exactly "equal" either.
But all I really want to say is that if you can get the gonads to ask, we would gladly help you. as long as helping you doesnt include shoving the American flag up our own assholes.
Its been 30 years since the reformists took power in Iran, and i'm starting to think its about time that its given another go... third times a charm you know.

You don't mention the real problem with the Iranian government; the omnipresent influence of the extremist Islamic fractions within the government and the fact that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is the de facto leader of the country.

It's also hard to change when protests end in death and massive arrests...

THat sure didnt stop the revolution of 1979-
or any of the worldspread revolutions from our past...
the freedom we gained from tyranny, came at the cost of much blood and sacrafice.

but the issue is, they dont seem to want our help, and yet they do, but then again they dont.

From my point of view, it seems that most countries who have a deeeeep root in conservatism, ex:Iran, Iraq, South Korea, etc, are starting to change gradually. The younger generation, my generation, are starting to gain awareness and become more liberal with their thinking, well maybe not me but..

Its the older generations in these countries that don't think they need to change. Who in this situation is right? ??

i suppose one would call me a 'radical liberal' as i believe that no person has the right to cast their beliefs upon other people- or even more so, to force them to participate.
but thats what it means to be crazy in this day in age.

I really really hope that Iran does not adopt American culture.

The Persian culture is older than most nations and valuable to the world. We need diversity - not monoculture IMO.

I didn't neccesarily say that they were going to adopt our culture, more that they are accepting of it... which I think is much more valuable.
