Default List of religions

I was just looking at my profile and noticed that it said Religion, Atheist. OK, I am an atheist but that is not a religion. I wish there was a place to say None. I don't like being lumped in with the people who want The Lord's Prayer taken away from school kids or the Ten Commandments removed from public buildings. I'm an atheist. That doesn't mean I don't believe in God. It means I don't believe in any god. I respect other people's beliefs whether I subscribe to them or not. Religious atheists annoy me because I don't believe they are true atheists. I think they're scared agnostics who think that they can confirm their beliefs by disrupting the beliefs of others. I wish that Thoughts.com, in their efforts to improve this site would consider this and add a 'NONE' category to that list.
I'm probably not supposed to post his here but I would like it to be where there's some readership. So if it gets moved, I'll go looking for it.

I know what you mean. I list mine as Christian, because that's what I am. Near the bottom of the list they list "Unspecified", maybe that would be closer, since they don't have "none". Maybe that would be closer. That is, until they include a none category.

I keep looking for a category for Giagoddess Worshipers, but have no luck, either.
Sigh....

I have a problem. I do not know what religion i am. I often say i am atheist but i don't know if this is correct. I see Christianity through history causing more wars and more suffering than anything else.I can not equate that with the god that is described in the bible. Man commits evil acts. God made man in his own image. God made man able to commit evil acts. If god was as great and as powerful as he is supposed to be then he would have made life like a utopia. Except from non believers who can burn in hell for eternity.
Religion seems to me to be contradiction after contradiction. I can understand why people flocked to religion in medieval times. But in modern society with up to the minute reporting and information being accessible to everyone. I find it hard to understand why so many people believe in something i just can not bring myself to agree with. I am glad that people can believe and find comfort and exultation in their religion. And i am happy that some religions can give so much comfort to their practitioners.
But dead children had to spend time in purgatory until the pope banned it recently. So all children who died before that had to spend time in purgatory because they were deemed as sinners. Why can the pope suddenly decide that .Does this mean all popes before this were wrong?. Do Christians believe that the inquisition was right and just. Do they believe the crusades were right and just. They thought what they were doing was gods work. But is that not what religious extremists say these days. Like the terrorists that committed they horrible abhorrent acts on 9/11.They thought they were doing gods work.If they are wrong then are all religions acts wrong.

Please, that wasn't the point of my OP.

I'd just be happy if they listed Pagan.
