Cool Question about Eddie Kritzer Productions

Today Mr. Kritzer called me and said he was very interested in one of my scripts. He is supposed to give it a read and if he does indeed like it enough to take it on he then stated that he would of course receive 15% of the sales if it were to actuallty sell. That is normal but, then he says that he will send me a contract and I need to send it back to him with a prepayment of six-hundred dollars. That is not normal. I know he has been in the business for some time, and is a producer but, no one is supposed to make you pay anything up front acording to the WGA rules, at least not any reputable business. I'm not sure what to do. Should I just pass on this one since I do have other people that are interested in this script?

Roe is right. DONT send money to him at all unless you want to be ripped off!!

Post his details in the spammers and scammers forum though.

Thanks so much guys. He tried calling me again lastnight and I miss his call. I just sent him an email giving him the bad new. Hope he doesn't rip off anyone. I have run into scammers before but, none of them had any ligitimate dealings at all and were easily found out. This one was tricky. Thank again.

Default Mr Kritzer

I'm glad I read this blog. I too was contacted by mr Kritzer just this morning with the same story. I am a published author though its been quite a while. So the temtation was there but I decided to research, and although his achievements seem to indicate he could help me, it just did not seem right. I typed his name into google and low and behold this blog came right up. Economy must be hurting him too huh? Also some of his achievements if they are his look rather old. I think he might be using older things to sucker people into paying. Anyway I'm glad I found you and did not fall into the same trap. good luck on your writing.

Don't you guys have an agent? I hope your stuff is copyrighted. I'm not famiiiar with producers contacting writers directly. Maybe for some of the indie stuff? Interesting. I wouldn't take anything in this business for granted.

Default eddie kritzer productions

I am also a writer and received a call wanting $600.00 to read my script. A red flag went up immediately. If you have to pay don't do it. I have an animation production company reviewing one of my children's books and I'm not having to pay anything. I should be hearing from them sometime in May saying yes or no about my book. Good luck fellow writers. It's a jungle out there. If you have to pay say nay.

Default Eddie Kritzer, a big time crook

people, please don't fall into this big time crook. he pretends he is an agent, but when he collects your check and your work you will never hear him again. the check is cashed but your work is somewhere in his recycle trash. the more you search about this dude, the more you will find he is a big time crook. It's happened to me and many others.

Kritzer, you can only fool people once, you obviously ruin your rep. the rest of your life.
