Our freedom was paid for in blood of the thousands that never came back.
It was also paid for by the broken and bent bodies and minds of countless others who did return but never were the same. For such a cost our freedom must mean something to us as it did to those that paid the price. What does your freedom mean to you ?

For me now you would have to redefine Freedom, I fought and blead for my country
, yet I am denide freedom of choice, I have to have a hundred peices of Id to get a my drivers licence renewed, I have to wear a helmet when I ride the harley, I have to wear a seat belt, the freedom we fought for is only an ideal, not a reality.

Freedom, I fear, exists primarily on paper and in the rhetoric of lying politicians.
I too did the soldier thing, fighting for freedoms that have seemingly diminished or disappeared entirely.

The freedom our founding fathers envisioned is not the freedom we have today. We are governed by people who want to decide or redefine the term "freedom". Sure, we have freedom of speech...but do we? We have the right to bear arms...but do we? The right to worship the god of our choice...but do we? These are all basic rights and freedoms that our founding fathers hoped for us, but little by little government chips away at these very freedoms that far too many people have taken for granted. Far too much blood has been spilled defending these rights that are no longer absolute. Good men and women dying in the jungles, the desserts, the oceans....to protect what our founding fathers laid out for us...to only have those freedoms picked apart by a crumbling democracy that is too afraid to give its people the power of their freedom. The reason being...a population with such freedom is a population in powered...No government wants its people that empowered.
I cherish my freedom...or what's left of it.......I mourn for those who are led blindly into battle in the name of our freedom only to fight, bleed, and die for a hidden agenda. Freedom is eroding little by little.......I want what our founding fathers wanted......but it may be too late now.

Freedom has become an abstract idea.....the very State you guys fought for has slowly erroded and continues to errode your personal freedom....Government driven by big business wants to take whatever individual liberty still exists and sacrafice it on the alter of greed,as for me i currently reside in a State occupied by a foreign power and controlled not from Ireland but by faceless beauracrats in Brussels.....freedom what freedom?

The freedom and liberty of damn near all nations of this entire little chunk of real estate are being drastically curtailed and/or eliminated by the politically and militarily powerful. Damn them all to hell.

I cherish what freedom we have left and the memories of those who made freedom possible.

Have we become so cynical we are unable to see what we have instead of trying so hard to find what isn't there?
We have the best food, shelter, vehicules, public transportation, buying power, access to information , right to axpress ourselves, hunt, fish, highways, healthcare, safe air travel, leisure options coming out of your ying-yang, polyester suits should that be your fabric of choice are all available and youz (collective us ) have the gall to compain about your lost liberties???????????????????????????????? Disgusting.

If you are young enough not to remember having those 'little freedoms' that we have lost, some of which were mentioned by Howling Wolf, you can't possibly imagine how much less free society is today. Freedoms are being replaced by materialism, little by little.
