I've been a Habs fan since the early 60s but have lived in southern Ontario most of my life - surrounded by Leaf fans and saturated by the Toronto media.

I used to really enjoy hating the Leafs. (Dave Keon was always giving my hero, Jean Beliveau, fits.) But finally, I feel sorry for them and hope they at least have a respectable season.

...feeling sorry for the Leafs ... hmmm. umm.. uh.... NOT!

Jean Beliveau! There's a true legend. I've met the man at golf tournaments and on the plane a couple of times. I always shake his hand and say hello.

I once met with the Rocket (off topic, I know, and we'll be back to Leafs bashing shortly). It was a book signing and I shook his hand and was prepared with what I wanted to say and all that came out was . ______________________ and I almost cried, I swear. It was like meeting a ghost. The man had a stare that went right into your head.

Bummer, the Leafs' streak ends at one.
The NHL apparently omitted to inform my Habs they had a game tonight in Pittsburg (Pens 7-Habs 1)

Why can't Hamilton get a NHL team? Because Toronto is first in line to get one, someday.

What do the Leafs and the Titanic have in common? They're both magnificent until they hit the ice.
