Emotions
In life we experience so many feelings
some happy some sad
some make us tingle
some make us hurt so bad
And yet it's these emotions
that give us the most precious gift
and give us the most painful times
the worst of these is lonliness
In the cold of night at 3am
or walking home in the rain
travelling miles by yourself
or waiting in a hospital room.
These times it feels like we're so small
so insignificant
just you and your thoughts
and yet it's others that help us through
If you think about that friend
who came to you in tears
who made you laugh and smile
how you helped because you could
About that friend who you made laugh
just because you felt like messaging
who's day you brightened
because you thought of them
That friend who will always listen
if you need to cry or scream
because they care
because you're you
Friends might not be there
in the room or on the phone
but they're with you
the things you've shared live inside
Their smiles, Their tears,
Their hopes, Their fears,
Their jokes, Their stories,
Their lives, Their times.
If you can be a friend to them
like they are back to you.
Then you can never truly be alone
because you matter to someone
And they think of you too
