| The Grim Reaper Hates Us..............

Whew !! What a busy day today . It started out very slow . And then the shit hit the fan. I had to send a crew on a 8 hour transport. And then another crew on a 4-5 hr. transport. That leaves Me and my partner to take care of the 911's Ugh. And of course they all seem to call at the same time. One for Vomiting with a fever, Another one for a fall with dizziness and a poss. broken arm and lets not forget the 68 yo female clear on the otherside of town with a 103.6 fever !! We are finally slowing down. I have a feeling its going to be a busy , bust ass night. The moon is Full and that always seems to cause trouble in people for some odd reason. My partner seems to be stuck in the bathroom and our Dispatcher is having stomach pain. And me well. . . . . I am in bed right now afraid to fall asleep because the moment I do the tones well drop for another 911. My husband is also an EMT and he's ran two Codes today !! Lucky ! ( FYI: a code is a CPR call ) Ya see that is exciting to us , THAT is what we live for . The fight against death. The Grim Reaper hates us ; ) Although we lose the battle alot more then we win it , but we sure give it our all. We live for the car wrecks,the codes,and trauma. Everything in between just keeps us warmed up for the big ones that really matter , that TRULY are emergencies. Alrighty then until the next entry. Oh and sweet dreams everyone.

So interesting. It amazes me the strength you'd have to have to do what you do.
I'm certified CPR but the thought of actually having to use it - scares me.
