I guess I am going to loose my job!!!
What can I say..... I don't know is all I tell friends and family... Currently I work for Gateway Computers..But for how long...well that is the real question.. I don't know. Acer bought the retail/consumer side of Gateway and MPC Computers bought the professional side of Gateway...
Well I don't know what Acer will do with the operations side of Gateway however they say it will be left alone and evaluated as time goes on.
I do know what MPC Computers has said to the Professional Group... that they all have jobs... All The professional sales and associates have jobs but what about all the people that are not defined as sales or associates? They all support sales such as contacts..web support.. and the list goes on...
Well I keep asking questions but no one is either
A. Not listening to me
B. Avoiding me like the black plaque
or C. They are too scared to ask because they dont' want to loose thier jobs..

It sucks because no one wants to tell us anything so until I hear otherwise... Ya'll appreciate your jobs, would ya now!!!

The employees are always the last to know. Whenever companies are purchased it is because the new management believes they can restructure the company into a profitable venture. The honeymoon usually only lasts for about 90 days before the elimination process begins. Whatever they say, the opposite is true. Start looking for other jobs now that will result in an improvement either in distance or time or remuneration. As soon as you have one job should start looking for the next. Personal experience: I worked for the Department of Defense for 20 years. They have thousands of positions open at any one time. As soon as I got one position I applied for another at a higher grade. I moved from Seattle, to Savanna to Chambersburg, to Hawthorne, to Chambersburg to Rock Island to San Bernardino (seven moves in 12 years). All moving expenses paid for by the DOD. Make your motto: "Have briefcase, will travel". Perhaps I should mention during this time I had side trips to England, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, China all paid for by the DOD. But the best part of it all was I had a fun job, 20 years of pure pleasure
