| Have we missed the point of Liberation?

Liberation, emancipation, freedom.
What is the true meaning of liberation? It is the freedom to chose. The opposite of liberation is suppression, captivity. Have women become entrapped by the movement of feminism? Feminism:- belief in the need to secure rights and opportunities for women equal to those of men, or a commitment to securing these; the movement committed to securing and defending rights and opportunities for women that are equal to those of men. The goal of feminism is to secure equal opportunities, to widen the scope of choice. Choice does not dictate the result or outcome, it ensures the ability to come to an independent decision.
With this in mind, does the feminist movement as we know it really mean liberalism? Or has it become twisted to dictate goals?
