Stellerman placed a blog the other day about the above incident.  Knowing what is going on in our society, the corruption and incompetency in gov't, especially at the federal level and the brainwashing the average american gets on a daily basis, by the news media and even our corrupt gov't and public officials should anyone really be surprised by the Ft. HOOD incident and whats really going on in our military?   Hell the signs are there and certainly enough of similar events have taken place in the past, they will continue, and we should all  should be expecting  more Ft. HOODs.  
Look at the other events involving military personnel, Ft. Carson in Colorado in the past year and ahalf had approximately 14 soldiers arrested for  murder, both of other soldiers and civilians.   Completely unheard of in the past, extremely rare for even one soldier killing another, and then it was simply a personal one on one disagreement or a crime for money.   Ft. Bragg , NC has many incidents involving killings by soldiers, many of other family members, mostly wives.    Think that maybe the feminist mentality and their pushy agenda promoted some of that?  It sure did.  A guy coming back from combat, dealing with real life and death situations, knowing who is really tough and capable isn't too receptive of a female making demands and putting him down and threatening him with a sleazy system to rip him off.   But knowing thats how it will workout  he might just not be inclined to allow the system and her to do that.  Not saying that is the right way to go but it sure is understandable and we all know that to be a fact but refuse to admit it.   See, that's the real cause of much of the mess we are in and now face but we refuse to admit it and correct it.    Thanks to special interest groups, our sleazeball politicians and corrupt judicial system  military leadership that is far from competent and loaded with special interest people pushing their own agendas and goals.
How many other individuals have felt sold out and abused by the system and took matters into their own hands, pushed into such actions because of corrupt politicians and special interest group agendas who care nothing about anyone or anything but themselves?   Feminist are up on top of that list.
Federal agencys are full of the incompetent and corrupt, from the local offices, to regional offices like that in Denver of the Region 8 EPA to the top level in Washington DC and they are causing serious problems for this country and all of us not to mention the billions that are wasted and even used to do damage.
Personnel in EPA are destroying important environmental programs and putting us all at risk.  Anyone who speaks out against it, as they are required by law, will be harrassed, threatened, slandered and eventually fired.     And Mr Hasan, the shooter at Ft Hood ,thought he had it bad, not even close.  
Federal agencies will get other agencies and employees to help too, including the FBI, judges and legislators.   Look at the Senator Bennet office and personnel, including the one in Pueblo Colorado.  Senator Salazar was no different.  All incompetent, and involved with abuse and other illegal conduct, usually in conjunction with other agencies like EPA and DOJ.
Local police in Denver, Lakewood Co., Pueblo Co, etc., are also involved, to include the Englewood PD who has some answering to do about an incident involving a DR.  Rossi and staff in that location, a federal insurance co, that federal employees access, "Mail Handlers Insurance" all involved in  criminal conduct involving illegal drugs given unknowingly to a federal employee blowing the whistle on criminal conduct in EPA, and other gov't agencies, to include law enforcement.   They have recently been involved in criminal conduct directed at that individual,  altering evidence, lying under oath and threating withnesses etc.  Just to name a few, oh the FBI is also involved in that.
No, the real culprets are the corrupt and incompetent in gov't and I just identified just a very few.  They are doing serious damage to this country, would think nothing about doing serious criminal damage to you and your family and they instigate and push others like Mr.  (major) Hasan into doing things like he did.   that way it supports their lies and false accusations about people they are trying to destroy.    Maybe he didn't get pushed that hard, but many are and until we identify those who truely instigated those problems and hold them accountable and make the needed changes as to who gets in gov't and how the present sleazeball system works, more tragedy is around the corner and it will get worse.
