Yet even when you do pray, your prayers are not answered, because you pray just for selfish reasons.Yet even when you do pray, your prayers are not answered, because you pray just for selfish reasons. James 4:3
_was there a time that you wondered why answers for prayers of some person came immediately compared to those of yours? or was it your prayer that is answered more frequently than theirs? was there really any secret as to how to pray?
_in Luke 11:1, Jesus' disciples knew how to pray. in fact they always do pray but what lead them to ask Him to teach them to pray? it is John that made a different prayer and obviously it made an impact.
_prayer is both talking and listening! yes, both. neglecting the other is same as not doing it. we often forgot to listen after we talked a lot. prayer is a communication which is speaking and listening for answers. not just that, when we speak in prayer, we must be sure that what we says are true in our hearts and are we really mean it. God sees what we try to hide and oftentimes, we fail to receive what we ask because we do not eliminate selfishness before we ask God of something. more oftenly, what we ask are for our own sake and are with not good motives.
_when you pray think of what really your heart has and what your mind could say. if these two agrees on something God is not pleased, it is better not to pray. have your self examined before you pray because when you pray it is not just someone you are talking to but Someone! in Filipino, and i'll quote, "respeto naman!"
