Then I realized that we work and do wonderful things just because we are jealous of others. This makes no more sense than chasing the wind. Ecclesiastes 4:4
_is it a high paying job that makes one successful? a happy family maybe? a combination of both? or is it something else? wealth? health? fame? what really is the measure of success? what makes one successful?
_i had envied my high school classmates when we met two days ago in a birthday party. it was their time to flaunt what they had six years after high school. one had twenty thousand pesos monthly salary. another was in-demand in her field. another had travelled the archipelago. another had make a living when he was still studying and graduated cum laude. i had nothing to tell. i was silent. i just graduated and had nothing to brag about.
_what makes one successful? when i ask one of them if he thinks he is successful, he said no. he wants more in his life. "what more he could ask?", i ask myself. i thought he is successful yet in his mind he is still not. a light shone and revealed what is success really is.
_real success isn't becoming what you want yourself to be but rather becoming the person you are ought to be. success isn't professional, rather it is personal and includes God, your family, yourself and everyone else that concerns you. success isn't being on top of every body else but instead, excellently doing what you are suppose to do. listening is a part of success. sometimes, being successful is forgetting yourself and doing what you don't like. often, it is flaring the passion in us to be better in our "called field".
_success isn't an overnight process, instead, it is a lifetime progress that can only be measured when you're dead. life being successful is a life with parts succeeded well.
