 Sovereign Servants
Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Acts 4:29

_persecution will not distance from us as we live our life as Christians and as we try to share it to others. it was with the believers since the beginning and will be until the fulfillment of all things. it is impossible for it to be gone. yes, sadly as it may sound, but persecution on us, Christians will always be a tail of us. living and being a Christian is not easy, it is hard. in fact, very hard!

_considering this verse from Acts when the early believers was shaken with huge persecution from those that were above them. the word "now" in the beginning of the verse was an indicator that they are presently in pain and suffering of something that has been with them since but is intensely heavy this time. now is an urgent word that connotes not tomorrow or a little later but now, as in now!

_consider is a plea with humbleness. it is a cry that accepts weakness and recognizes that they cannot do nothing about it. it is an act of surrender. they had laid everything to God, bowed to His power and hoped for something to happen.

_servants is a term applied to helper. maybe the lowest rank of a society. they have someone above them. they are under the supervision. they do not have freedom though have the discreetion on what they do. they are not their own, someone is owning them.

_the early believers prayer is not to take away the hardship, persecution and pain but is to enable and strenghten them to go through and go on. let it be our prayer today, not to be out of danger but be courageous enough to face danger for Christ. in this way, we glorify God.
