"This is my own dear Son, and I am pleased with him. Listen to what he says!"
Matthew 17:5
_"what's the payoff for me?" just another adage from a selfish view created by man, of course. many more sayings and phrases are included, in fact numerous of them have the same selfish themes. majority of us humans live for themselves and very often put selves first. we are naturally selfish and thinks of ourselves first before others. we are not animals and we should not think like animals do. unless you consider yourself an animal relative of a chimp.
_mothers live a selfless life when they replace themselves with the thought of how will my siblings survive? perfect example was an ideal mother who takes care and prioritize her baby before herself. once i heard, "a baby could die but mother's care won't." i do not know how they, mothers, do that. thinking of others before their own selves. well, i thank God because my mom is an example of mother living a selfless life. when i was younger than i am today, she couldn't buy her own neccesities just to give way to what i want. she loved me so much that even her needs are stripped off from her mind to give those i don't need. isn't amazing how mothers do that? they live a life that is not for themselves but their sons and daughters. think about it.
_another was Jesus Christ who left His throne to save His creations. His love drove Him out of heaven to live like man, die to bring salvation and lived again to rule. His life on earth was not for himself but is for those whom He loved. He heals, He preaches, He travels just to reach many and He was not stopped by anything, even death.
_how about you? how do you live your life? are those you crave for you all or for you alone? wouldn't it be nice if we live not only for ourselves but for others too? it's not a huge heroic thing to do but would be helpful enough to change the world we live. it always start from an individual. we do not have to think of how others live. if we want to make a difference and be remembered of our acts then, we must start to live a selfless life now.
