But anyone who hears what I say and doesn't obey me is like someone whose house wasn't built on solid rock. As soon as the river rushed against that house, it was smashed to pieces!
Luke 6:49
_according to the Online Merriam-Webster's Dictionary, a "hypocrite" is a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings. true enough to its every word, the Bible also describe a hypocrite Christian in Luke 6:46-49 who or what is a hypocrite?
_someone is a hypocrite when he says who he is not. he says a lot of his good traits that he believes is his and very few but rationalized bad flaws. he had in his mind someone he thought is him. he puts traits, behaviors and qualities he likes to be his and assumes that this "man" is him. we all have gone through the stage where we had this "imaginary friend". it is our perfect view of what a friend is. everything that is good is in it and it barely commits mistakes. it makes us smile, laugh and even cry. but as we grow, this imaginary friend is lost gradually. hyopcrites retain this thinking but now applies the concept as "imaginary self". hypocrites says a lot of who they think they are but actually what they say about them is just their imagination and is intangible in reality.
_a hypocrite is someone who does what he shouldn't do. after saying all that he thought he is, a time would come when in an exact situation he told he'll to do this and done that will occur and he'll be "changed". he seem to forgot who he is when he was talking. it is like, "whenever i see a blind man, i'll drop a coin and pray to God that someone would walk his way and help him." while talking, his group of friends happens to pass by a blind man silently curled up in the pedestrian. then this hypocrite burst out from somewhere saying, "i wonder what lead them to being so poor. i thank God for my parents who were so caring and loving." all his would friends raised their brows with unbelief.
_hypocrites also think God looks at their mask, and not on their hearts. hypocrites does what i've mentioned before to make a good facade, a mask. they try to please and get the approval of many. they loved being praised and acknowledged. they think that God believes their follishness. when everybody thinks and talks about how they pray, God despises how they pretend they are sinless. when everybody thinks and talks about their service, God despises how dark their motives are. when everybody thinks and talks about how strong their faith are, God despises how feeble and weak their knees are. when everybody thinks and talks about how they are as a "good" Christian, God despises how their hearts look and smell like.
_don't kid yourself. God can't be fooled.
