This very day in King David's hometown a Savior was born for you. He is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:11
_Ixthus was once used and now, occasionally but has always been a symbol for Christianity. Ixthus is a Greek word for "fish" and is a perfect acronym for God's only Son. each letter of the greek word is translated as "Jesus Christ, the annointed one Saviour". yes, it is so amazing how a fish was used to symbolized Christianity and was used by Jesus Christ in His lectures. He called His disciples and followers, including us to be "fishers of men". and it has again a connection with the fish! Ixthus was used by early Christian believers to greet their fellow believer. one would draw the half of the fish, then the other one completes the drawing. that was how they once greet each other those times that Christianity was haunted by many.
_in our generation, we cannot do that. first our streets aren't dusty and drawing the half fish on it with a stick won't be recognizable. if we use chalks, we might end up in jail for vandalism. and imagine how many Christians would greet in the streets today. there would be no room for another greeting may be after a day of walking. what we have today to symbolize our faith is our testimonies.
_yes, how we live today is our necklace that says, "i am a Christian!" or does it really do? our Christianity is not just an escape route from hell but is a lifestyle we ought to live every second of our life. yes, we must always be a Christian!
_how do they see Christianity in you? is it on yourself that you're putting shame on or you causing shame for the whole Christian community? think. it doesn't mean that it is a fish, it must be fishy!!
