My eight year old daughter stayed the night with a friend who belongs to a non-denominational church in town. I told her she could go to church with them, no problem. I'm not anti church, just anti brainwashing. My father was a baptist preacher my whole childhood, I know the game. My daughter comes home to tell me her body, her mind, her thoughts, her toys, her pets, her whole life doesn't belong to her. She can't seem to understand that. Next she tells me that Mr. Jim the youth pastor told her that since her mommy doesn't believe in God that when we die we won't be together. Now, Mr. Jim, if it were up to me, I'd give you a swift kick in the ass for brainwashing my child in only an hour. But, I'd have to thank you for showing me your true colors for using the scare tactics with my eight year old innocent child. Take your religion and cram it up your ass.

Wow yes that was a little harsh to teach a child. Way to freak her out. Me personally if I were taught that God could keep me away from my loved ones I would grow to fear him and not want to believe. Realize that true christian don't preach religion, they show it to you instead.

Ugh how lame. That must suck! Pastors do preach, and I personally think that unless you think your child is mentally mature enough to make her own personal opinions than do what they are told, you shouldn't have sent her there.
Good luck on teaching her differently!

Isn't God supposed to love people? If he does, why would he want to hurt them?
