While I sit here listening to The Velvet Underground I start to wonder what happened to the music industry. What happened to music in general. It makes me slightly nervous.
The top 3 songs in America according to Itunes right now are...
1.)Low Flo Rida
2.)Don't Stop The Music Rihanna
3.)With You Chris Brown

VS.

There is NO COMPARISON. Music is a dying art. Back in the day when music was an art that was still inspired by creativity, true musicians would not have allowed this kind of generic, repetitive, piece of shit which we call popular music. It is unfortunate that so many people have fallen under this spell of a cultural downfall. What we need is a musical uprising. What happened to all the legends in music that defied what was the norm, and were willing to push the limits of musical conventionalism. What we need is a revolution. The only problem is who is going to be the musical Che Guevara of the 21st century?

		You are absolutely right on the money there sir!! As an old rocker, I have been sickened by the decline of actual artists in the industy anymore. I happen to adore Incubus, and I believe wholeheartedly, that my son could lead the revolution and bring us back to quality instead of quantity.

		Shoot man, it's been this way for many years. Remember when such ridiculous songs as Don't Rock the Boat, Windy, Shake Your Booty and anything by Micheal Bolton topped the charts in the 60s, 70s and 80s? Too many people like the modern version of Mary Had a Little Lamb playing on the radio, not something with deep lyrics, driving guitars and pounding drums.
