when i said i live a lie
you thought it was to frightening
and that i wouldnt say good-bye
you thought it was a joke
an innocent attempt
to make my jokes choke
you in affect
but i was so serious
about what i said
i thought maybe you were worth it
to know what was in my head
you thought i wasn't myself
shortly after that conversation
because i neede help
but deep down inside
you knew about me
a joke was a lie
and now you finally see
only now it's too late
for you so save me
and now the lake
is rising above my knees
maybe next time you'll see
when someone shares
something that a joke doesn't mean
nothing can conpare
good-bye to the world
and everything else
says this little girl
who is no longer herself
