Michael Phelps did the unbelievable.
He acquired 8 gold medals
with a couple of events close to a falter
But he made it.
It’s miraculous, in some ways
and definitely overrated.
But he deserves every attention he get.
It’s not the just winning
But being able to push yourself over the limit
and achieving your goals (that wasn't so low either)
While the whole world watches
- that’s amazing.
Kudos to
Dara Torres who is such a inspiration everybody
- especially women.
I think she’s a proof that if you take care of yourself and your body
And you do something you really love
Everything else will follow.
One more week of Olympics
But the most controversial ones finished this week.
I’ve watch the Olympic games very closely for the past week
And watching them not only inspires one because of their achievements
but also from their weaknesses.
Newspapers print their achievements,
Nightly news shows talk about their recognitions
But watching close allows you magnify on their waterloo.
Dara Torres had troubles with her start.
She seem to have trouble putting her head down.
Natalie Coughlin doesn’t swim straight.
She gets too close to the lane divider.
Even the “Superman” Michael Phelps:
critics agreed, he is not a sprinter.
If his 100m butterfly was 50, he would’ve lost.
Even if it was a 75m.
I am not stating these to brag.
Learning how to swim at the age of 17, I will always consider myself a rookie.
One that can do her team better by staying on the benches
it's just that i really love the water.
But these waterloos prove that they’re still not perfect.
It leaves them something to work on.
A lot less compared to amateurs like me
but It’s something.
Michael Phelps wasn’t born and thrown into the Water cube to win gold.
He’s been swimming since he was seven.
It’s been said his body's proportion is perfect for a swimmer,
And he is extremely focused...
But he had to work for it like everybody else.
That being said, I have to start working on me.
I don’t have the exact date of when the swimming practice starts but I’d like to get ahead.
Since running isn't going to be on my belt this season, I have to find a substitute.
Watching the marathon today, left me reminiscent of my running days.
I miss it. A lot. And it’s very sad that I can’t do it this fall, they even have a coach now.
It would’ve been great. But it’ll never be the same.
So this week, I plan to get back on weights.
CSI will be closed until the 31st so I have to make the most out of my dad’s little plates.
Still no jogging because I can’t afford new shoes.
But walking should be fine.
No meat for the whole week, once again.
And I have to put the “conditioning workout” into my routine.
Every other day.
Wish me lots of luck.
