I was just looking through some of the posts. It's really amazing how strangers can get so close to somebody they don't know. Honestly, I wish I would have known about this site a year ago. I could have really used some support. A year ago my son was fighting for his life. He was on life support and the doctors didn't think he was going to make it. I stayed with him the whole time and I didn't have any outside support. No family or friends. This really would have been good for me. They released Nick (my son) and said that he probably would never walk or talk. He's pulling himself to his knees now, and has learned how to get where he wants to go. He is very vocal, too. Just babbling, but enough for me to know that he will talk. It helps that he has a sister that's only 10 1/2 months older to teach him as she is learning. I didn't ever think that I would get this far.... I prayed and cried every nite. He's my miracle baby. He still has a G-tube, but he does eat table food. Just two months ago he refused to eat. Six months ago he fought taking his bottle. So much has happened and he has progressed so rapidly. I may have a small family (just me, my current boyfriend, daughter, and Nick) but there is enough love that it shows.
I just want to thank the creator of this site. Just really wish I would have known about it a year ago.....

I found this site out of desperation. My daughter has epilepsy and after dealing with watching her seize all day, every day, I needed someplace to tell my story. It was great for me, very therapeutic.
I am glad that Nick is doing so great, and I am glad that you found this site!

I only found this site about a month ago, and I agree with you. The people on here are amazing!!
It sounds like your son is defying all odds and I hope he keeps up his rapid progression.

I found it just 2 weeks ago and wish I had found it soon. The people on here are amazing. I have never found better friends who are willing to read, and advise and just be there for support. Thanks everyone and Stay Safe.

I have formed a great bond with a few of the bloggers here. You're in great company!
Life sometimes knocks us in the dirt, and when we look around hopefully we have friends there to help us to our feet and dust us off.
